Don't monkey with my motor: Zoo gives cheeky inmates their own Merc after banning cars in their enclosure

As any visitor to a safari park will tell you, it’s not wise to hang around when driving through the monkey enclosure — the little thieves will strip your car bare, given half the chance.
But these rhesus macaque monkeys at Longleat were thought to be a little out of practice — their Monkey Jungle home had been closed to car-bound visitors for two years during a redevelopment.
The enclosure is reopening this weekend, and bosses at the Wiltshire park thought the inhabitants might find the traffic strange after all this time.Ian Turner, deputy head warden, said: 'The monkeys are one of our key attractions.
'Their antics were the perfect preparation for the reopening of the Monkey Jungle at Longleat this weekend.
'They have created fond memories for thousands of children over the years and probably the same number of frustrating memories for mums and dads.
